Gretchen
WDYT of Gretchen? I am starting to really like it. Do you think it sounds a bit masculine? Combos that I like are Gretchen Fiona and Gretchen Olivia. :)

I really only like it as a nickname for Margaret.

it's not my very favorite, but I've been thinking about it, and I do like the name. I think it is completely feminine, not AT ALL masculine. Gretchen Olivia is very pretty!

I don't like Gretchen, sorry. It doesn't sound masculine to me, but it does sound very harsh, which I don't find appealing at all. Also, it always reminds me of 'wretched' and 'retching'. From your combos, I really like Gretchen Fiona. I think it flows better than Gretchen Olivia and Fiona is very pretty.

I really don't like it. It's just sounds butch and ugly. Sorry, it just rubs me the wrong way. Aside, I do like Olivia.

To me Gretchen has a very harsh sound. I just don't like it, sorry. Rachel sounds the same to my ears. It's that "tch" sound.

I have always liked Gretchen. There is a hardness to it's sound, but I like it. I like Gretchen Olivia a lot.

Gretchen is very cute, in an old-fashioned kind of way. No, it's not masculine at all. No more than Maggie, Meg or Peggy are. They're all different take-offs on Margaret.

Somehow Gretchen reminds me of "wretched".. it just sounds.. not nice.

I love Gretchen! It doesn't sound very masculine to me... I mean, sure, it's not the most feminine name, but it doesn't fit into the opposite end of the spectrum very well: as in, I can't see Gretchen fitting on a guy.

I think Gretchen's a lovely name, and would never consider it masculine. Gretchen Fiona flows better IMO than Gretchen Olivia, but I'm not sure I like either mn with the fn.

For some reason I've never liked the name Gretchen! I don't know why, I just never have! :)

I can't decide whether I like it or not... It's not masculine, but still slightly harsh sounding and conveys images of martinet German governesses, at least to me... Gretchen Fiona flows very nicely, Gretchen Olivia, for some reason, seems cumbersome.

I don't think it sounds masculine at all. It's pretty; there was a girl in one of my classes name this, and it carries well. Gretchen Fiona is adorable, and I like the balance of Olivia with it. Both nice combos.

I don't like Gretchen sorry, it's always sounded to me like the description of someone complaining ("what're you gretchin' about over there?!").I love Gretl, Gretta and Greteliese though.
