Casper and Sirius
My top 2 Boys' names
* I will be about the age people have children in 15 years; I am banking on any Harry Potter connotations fading by that time. Not that I dont like the character, I'm just hoping it won't be the first thing everynoe thinks of when they see Sirius.

I adore Casper. I think Sirius will probably always be thought of, by people of the 'Harry Potter generation', i.e most people around now, as a strongly Harry Potter name, but otherwise, there's nothing wrong with it.
I like Casper / Caspar a lot, and I quite like Sirius too, for the astronomical connection. Hope the connection fades in time for you!
Although Casper the ghost is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear the name, I still like it. I love Sirius, its very unusual and I like the astrological connotation. I don't think it sounds too much like Serious. I think Casper and Sirius would make a fantastic sibset =)
I like both Casper and Sirius. I would love to meet someone named Sirius. I can see that the associations with Harry Potter could be a problem but I liked the name before Harry Potter.
Casper and Sirius would make a cute sibset as well. You could spell Sirius with a C (Cirius) to get away from the Potter thing.

Casper is very nice. Harry Potter or not, Sirius still sounds like the word serious, and trust me, kids will make fun of him.
I want to like the name Sirius, for the celestial connection. But I hear "serious." If I were introduced to a little Sirius, my first thought would be, "Are they Puritans?"
Casper, I love. :-)
For my generation (40 somethings) the connection to Casper the Ghost is immediate. But if I can get over that, then I don't see why your generation couldn't see past the HP character(s). [I agree that HP is not a bad image, it's just that the names have other aspects and you'd love them to be seen in their full glory, right?]
