Bellatrix?
I know right now it's all Harry Potter-esque, but I really think it's a lovely name. Is it really that bad? Would it be terrible if I named a daughter that in, say, 10-15 years?

I like it a lot; a little HP-related, but not bad. Really cute. ;)

I prefer Beatrix, but I think Bellatrix would be fine if you used it, like you say, in 10-15 years.

I like Bellatrix and in 10-15 years I think it may still have the Harry Potter recognition but I still think it sounds really pretty. Bound to possibly get some mixed reviews.

I've been thinking about this name a lot lately and I've really come to love it, it’s feminine but has a strong sound to it and I also love that it has to do with astrology

Well, howdy, there, LillianJust wanted to introduce myself, and let you know I'm a regular poster here with an account for more than a year now. My real name is Lillian, and I've chosen to use it as my posting name as well. I don't know whether it's your real name, or you just like it, but with two Lillian's people are bound to get confused. Hope you won't mind if I ask you to choose another posting name? And to answer your question, I think Bellatrix nn Trixie would be fun. A step aside from Beatrix or Belle/a, without going too far afield.=D

I saw Harry Potter today, and I had been pronouncing it BELL-a-trix in my head for ages. I LOVE bel-LA-trix, and I think the HP association will have died down soon. It's not too strong anyway, a lot less so than Hermione or Minerva.

WHAT? It's bel-LA-trix, not BELL-a-trix? (haven't seen the movie yet)I hate it when I read a book pronouncing a name a certain way, then find out I was wrong and have to get used to pronouncing it differently. I did the same thing with Hermione in the first book. Grrrrr. :)

They said BELL-a-trix as far as I could tell

Oh, goodyI hate having to change the way I pronounce names. :) Guess I'll find out for sure when I watch the movie this weekend. Thanks!

I'm not a fan of the Bella- nor the -trix but I'd much rather see a Bellatrix than a Madison or Rylee, that's for damn sure. ;) I prefer Beatrix, and I much prefer Beatrice over that. Also, Bellatrix makes me think of "bowl of Trix (or tricks)". :b

I think it's really cute.It doesn't seem too Harry Potter for me, of course, I don't know much about Harry Potter anyway. But, yes, ten or fifteen years should be plenty of time for most people to forget about Bellatrix being a Harry Potter character.-Tara
