Adela is lovely in either slot! Caroline, Francesca, Isabel, Emily, Flora are some sisters that come to mind. Henry, Theodore, Christopher, Jacob, Micheal for brothers.

I really like it, it's on my list. I prefer it over Adelaide (which only reminds me of the city).
I personally wouldn't use it as a first name because there are other names that I like better, but it works either way. I would love to see it used as a first name!
I detest Addy as a nn, it sounds so coarse and tacky (I also can't stand Maddy!). I would rather Del or Dela, or maybe even Ella as the nn.
Her sister would be Sophie / Sophia.

I like Adela. If I used it, it would be in the mn spot. I think I prefer Adeline or Adelaide as a fn.

As for sisters, how about Camilla or Beatrice?

It's nice but I prefer Adele, Adelaide, and Ada, or even just Della. And Addy is fine, but downplays the beauty of Adela, I think. Dela or Della would be a nicer nn, or Ada, imo.
