Jacoby (which I've only ever heard as jah-COE-bee) is a surname, imo. And often when it is used as a fn, from what I've seen, it seems to be because it's a mix up Jacob, Jack, and Coby or Kobe, as I've seen it spelled Jakobie, Jackobe, etc. Eesh. So it just rubs me the wrong way, unless it's a family name or something. Honestly.
