That's the first thing I think of when I hear this name.

I love Carrie!
I think it's perfectly fine all on its own, and in my opinion, has a much nicer sound than any of the longer forms. Carrie has been one of my top favorites for quite some time, and I find it to be a very sweet, feminine name that doesn't sound too nicknamey.

Heard it was a spooky film but yeah, they say it was good too!
Carol, Carolyn, Carolina, Carina, Carissa, Karen? Beyond those, it gets to be a bit ofa stretch.
Actually, I much prefer it on its own, and I think I've only ever known one Carrie who used it as a nn (for Carolyn, I think.)

maybe Carolyn, but that's really similar to Caroline....(
How about Carissa?
You may want to just name her Caroline, and call her Carrie when she's little. I can't really imagine a, say, 50-year-old woman with the name Carrie. Caroline is a name that works for all ages, and Carrie doesn't sound like it can be taken seriously after the age of 40.
If you don't like the spelling of Caroline, you can always go with an alternate spelling, or choose a name that sounds similiar but you may still like, such as Caralyn/Karalyn.
