Sunshine
What do you think of the name Sunshine? (this is my first name, and I'm just curious to see if other people think it's as awful as I do)

It's technically my cat's name but I always call her Sunny. I can definitely see it getting old if it was my name, so I feel for you. I like it in a GP sort of way but it's not something I'd use on a child. The main reason I like it is because it was a nn of sorts of a male character on "Queer As Folk". :b
I like it, but I don't think I'd have the guts to use it as a fn. I like the nn Sunny. I don't think it'd age very well & that would keep me from using it.
I'm sorry but I do think it's a bit too cutesy, like most of these "poetic" nature names, but I guess it's always better than say, Makkenzeigh or Madysyn.
I like it but I'm not sure I'd use it. I like the nn Sunny.
I actually think it's cute. I like that the nn Sunny can be used. It's not that bad!
I'm definitely no fan of it. It sounds like a name a clown at children's parties might use. I can't picture a Dr. Sunshine Kaminsky or a Judge Sunshine O'Brien. lol
As a mn, I think it's fine. As a first name, it's something I'd never do. What was your experience with it?
I was totally fed up with it by the time I went to secondary school, and started going by my middle name then. The two most annoying things I used to get were people singing 'you are my sunshine' at me all the time, and people telling me that rain or storm would suit me better :/ Also my sister has a nice, normal sort of name, so mine looked even stranger by comparison.
I prefer Sunrise. It's ok, but I wouldn't name my kid it. Do you go by Sunny, or your middle name, or what?
I go by my middle name
It's not for me.
I don't think its awful, it's quite nice in its own way. It's certainly different from all the common names.
It's a name that wouldn't make it on to my short list.

I kind of like it as a middle name, though I prefer Sunset.
