Caroline
I just got back from the movie The Skeleton Key with Kate Hudson (which by the way was a great movie) and in the movie Kate plays a girl named Caroline. This name has never appealed to me before but, after seeing this movie and hearing it, I love this name! I only like it pronounced Ker-o-lien. Carolina is nice pronounced Ker-o-lien-a. I know my brother is considering this name for his baby, only pronounced ker-o-LEE-na. So if he wre to use it it would be out of the question but anyways what do you think of my new favorite name!? The middle name would be a family name so it might be Caroline Mae, Caroline Lee, Caroline Ann, Caroline Bernadette, Caroline Lorraine, or Caroline Valinda, just a few options! Please give opinions because I haven't found a name I like in about 2 months so this is a big deal, sorry for rambling!Edited to add that I love the nickname Carrie also if she were to want to be called this!Auntie to: Robert, Brady, Juliana & Sophia.
Auntie again soon! Sister-in-law is...Lilypie Baby Ticker

I have always loved this name and chose it for my daughter almost 3 years ago! She is Caroline Julia but other combos I considered were:Caroline Mae
Caroline Maeve
Caroline Faith
Caroline w/ my maiden nameI think the pronounciation of Ker-o-line sounds a bit southern, my pronounciation of it is more like Ka-ro-line or even Ka-ra-line. But always, always pronounced to rhyme with wine.
Surprisingly, never much liked Carrie, Carol, and Carolina is fine for a state but not big on it for a girl's name.

I like Caroline too. I don't pronounce it the same, probably due to my Aussie accent, but it's a nice name. Caroline Mae is pretty.

I love the name Caroline. Always have. It sounds elegant yet down to earth. From the list of middle names, I like Caroline Mae and Caroline Lorraine.

I absolutely love Caroline. I didn't like it at all until I read Pride and Prejudice, which I guess is weird because the character wasn't a good person. Still, I really, really love it.Caroline Mae is my favorite from your combos, but I also like Caroline Bernadette.

I think it's gorgeous. I like Caroline Mae the best, but Caroline Bernadette also sounds nice. It's just a little long for me.
Carolina is gorgeous also, but I prefer it pronounced cah-ro-leen-a.

I don't like the pronounciation Ker-o-lien, but the normal way and ker-o-LEE-na is ok sounding to me. The combos are also nice.---------------------------------------------------------------------

I think Caroline Mae is great... For me Caroline Ann is a bit hard to pronounce, and there're too many "L"s in both Caroline Lee and Caroline Lorraine.

I've always liked Caroline, but I don't like Carrie much. So I'd be more apt to use Caroline as a mn. I don't love Carolina, but I think the proper way to pronounce it is the Spanish way, care-oh-LEE-nah. Carolina with a long "i" is too 'place name-y' for me.

Caroline is my favorite name too!!! I have to see that movie now. I named my daughter Caroline Mary 2 years ago and I get so many compliments I can't tell you. It is classic and not overused. There probably wouldn't be any other Caroline's in her class which I like, but it's not a new, trendy or made up name (all of which I dislike too). My daughter has so many nicknames. I esp. like Carolina and Cara. It is a feminine, beautiful and timeless name. And you actually know the baby is a girl ( I dislike unisex or male names on baby girls). I would definitely recommend using the name Caroline or Carolina. I never regret naming my daughter that name and I know a bunch of my friends that regret naming their daughters trendy or male names. I like Caroline Mae a lot. I also like Caroline Grace, Caroline Rose, Caroline Elisabeth. Carolina goes nicely with your brother's sib set too.
