I really like it. What really jumps out at me is the "hero" part in the middle which I love, not too crazy about the meaning, but I think its very handsome and I think I'm going to add it to my list =)
I notice some people associate it with Charlize Theron. I admit, that's what I thought of at first but its not a bad association. And like Isla said, its not like is a feminine first name, its only her surname.
I'd probably pronounce it Thay-ron whether that's the correct pronunciation or not. I think it sounds better pronounced that way.

Charlize Theron...people will expect a female
Not really. It is her surname, after all.
Actually in the USA Theron is normally pronounced with the first syllable rhyming with "share" or "hair". That is always how I hear people pronounce it when referring to the well-known novel The Damnation of Theron Ware, which I had to read years ago in literature class. :)

Brings Charlize Theron to mind, but it's not bad. I'm not sure of the correct prn. when used as a given name, but I'd assume THAIR-on (rhymes with Sharon, "th" is soft like in "think").
ETA:
BTW, we had a set of triplets at work and the father was Theron, but I never heard it pronounced. But the triplets were William, Waylon, and Tharyn, the last one being a girl. Not sure if they were pronouncing just like the dad's name or not. (It's nmsaa, just so you know. :b)

I know a boy named Theron, actually--in middle school now, I'd imagine--and I'm pretty sure he pronounces his name THER-in. The first syllable sounds like "there", but with a TH as in "breath".
I like it. It's very handsome.

I like it, at least I really want to like it, but I always waver a little on pronunciation. I pronounce it Thehr-on, always with the stress on the first syllable and a short e vowel sound, but on the (unstressed) second syllable I waver between a clear short o sound "ron" and a more neutral vowel sound "rәn".
So yeah.
So yeah.
I love it! :)
Uncommon name but still a name many people heard of..
I prn is Thee-ron
