June

I know a couple people with June as a middle name - a Megan June and a Clementine June. I think it works very well in the mn spot and would make a nice fn as well. It's sweet. :)
Bessie would be a kind of neat nn. I actually have a friend whose middle name is Bessie (well, actually, it's spelled Besse and pronounced Bess, but she always says Bessie).

June on a boy... I'd have to think about that. I agree with you about the "vintage" feel.
June is a very sweet, optimistic name. it's a bit old-fashioned (in a good way) but still carries a great deal of style. in fact, June would work nicely with many of your current loves:
Evadne June
Cecilia June
Sunniva June
Miranda June
I always think of cows or a farm when I hear Bessie. I much prefer Bette.

ooh thanks for the combo ideas :)
June is really cute, and you don't see it asa fn much anymore. It was very popular about sixty or so years ago, but it fell way off. I wouldn't rule out using it as a mn.
Bessie, unfortunately, is not a pretty name. It sounds like 1. a very fat, old blues singer 2. a redneck or 3. a cow. In fact Bessie is almost a generic name for a cow, along with Flossie and Bossy.
