I thimk of the tribe too and it doesn't seem to work as thats the name of a group I mean you wouldn't name your child Carolinian

It's all the tribe to me, and I ditto most of what Eliora said (with the exception of the fact that I don't find it particularly disrespecful, just odd to name someone after a whole group of people. It's like German or French with a more exotic sound.)

Like Eliora, I find Shawnee disrespectful...and if it weren't a tribe's name, the spelling would just look really tryndee.

I like this name. I like Native American names like Dakota, Shawnee and Cheyenne. I don't know if I'd actually use them though.

It's pronounced Shaw-NEE, or with slightly less emphasis on the last syllable, depending on accent.

It's ok. Not the greatest, but not bad.
