Baynx (!!!)
There was a birth announcement in my local paper today for an adorable little boy named Baynx Hayden Lee (last name omitted). !!! I couldn't resist sharing this name with all of you. It took me a minute to realize that it's "Banks." I'm sure there are some people who will be horrified of the surnamey-ness of the entire name. Baynx conjures up words like lynx, larynx and phalynx when I look at it. Well, his picture is adorable, but I can't say I would have picked his name...especially not the spelling. :)

Hayden Lee is kind of blah, but at least its okay but Baynx is just plain weird. If they were going to use Banks they at all the should have relegated it to the middle name slot as it is extremely surnamey. But the spelling just makes me want to gag.

Some parents don't get it.Z told me the story of the day he met a student named Cruise. He asked if it was a nickname, and he replied "No, it's my real name. If I didn't know better, I'd ask them what they were smoking that day."

Gag.Banks, if a surname of significance to the family, would not be my style, but wouldn't be horrible, especially down here in the South where surname names are used a lot. Baynx, on the other hand, is just atrocious!

I never would have realized that's supposed to be Banks. Not that Banks is a good FN anyway, but that's really bad. I agree about larynx et al. Hayden Lee doesn't doo much for me, either.I saw a two year old Baden today. That made me sad.

I actually like Baden if it had personal meaning eg. If the parents were in the scouting movement etc. After Baden Powell (although his FN is Robert)
