Re: Opinions on Liam?
in reply to a message by Sian Williams
To be honest, is one of the most unappealing names I've ever heard, and I really can't imagine why anyone would choose it. I first heard it when my little sister and her friend were playing with this wretched dirty baby doll and turning him inside out and shouting "His name is Liam!" and I thought, "What a ridiculous name, surely they must have made that up!" So I asked them and they said no, there was a kid at their school named Liam. I laughed out loud and continued laughing in my head for some time after, and eventually decided that Liam was the perfect name for that ridiculous baby doll. Then a few days later I met a baby boy named Liam at the park, and grew somber. Eventually I started posting at btn, where everyone loves Liam, and I got seriously weirded out.
The main objection I have to it is a phonetic one, but you like the phonetics so that should be okay. It's also very nicknamey, now that I know it's short for William. It's acceptable as a nickname for William.
Rhys and Liam go together well, even though I don't like Rhys.
