It definitely doesn't look like it should be pronounced that way. If it was said like that, I would think they would spell it Halayna, or something like that. I don't like the Halyna spelling...

Actually, it just occurred to me that this is perhaps a spelling variation of Helena. A very bad spelling, that is, imo. I've never liked Helena much :-/
