Mercy or Mercedes
In both case, it would be used as a middle name. Which do you prefer, and why? Any combo suggestions?
I've been thinking of Alexandra Mercy and Lucinda Mercy. For Mercedes, I would use Eve Merecedes. (No nn)

how do you pronounce Mercedes? More English, or more French/Spanish?
I don't like the English pronounciation (because of the car referrence it just doesn't sound like a name to me). The Spanish/French pronounciation is very nice (and goes well with Eve or Eva).
Mercy is always a save bet for a middle name (though not one of my favorites). I don't really like Lucinda, though...

I like Mercy much better. It's so classy and gracious, imo. Mercedes is pretty, but it just doesn't have the same class to me. Eve Mercedes is a nice combo, but I think Eva Mercedes might flow better. I'm not an Alexandra fan, but I think Alexandra Mercy might look a bit better than Lucinda, which I like a lot.
MERCY!!!!!!!!!!! I had a cocker spaniel named Mercedes… her nickname was Sadie. Personally I would think of our family dog.
I've never known a Mercy, but have, a Mercedes (first name, family emmigrated from Spain to Canada.)So, just because of that, Mercedes is what I like better.
However, Mercy is a good name, as well as a good quality.

I like Mercy. It has a nice sound and a nice meaning.
I think of Mercy Pecksniff in Charles Dickens' Martin Chuzzlewit and Mercy in Pilgrim's Progress.

I much prefer Mercedes. For some reason, I don't think of the car at all. Mercy is cute, I guess, but it's very puritan to my ears. Mercedes is one of my favorite names though.
No combo suggestions at the moment, but I'll add some if I think of any :) All of yours are fine.

The last few days we've been loving Mercy.
Our combo ideas are Mercy Alison, Mercy Antonia, Mercy Antoinette.
I like Mercedes as well, but the car conotation is too stong.

Mercy is one of my favorite middle name choices, particularly with Mireille.
I like Mercy better. Its easier for me to pronounce, it doesn't remind me of a car (I know the name was around long before the car),
and I like Alexandra and Lucinda better than Eve.
