Re: some Hebrew girls names
Meital is absolutely lovely and I don't think of the word 'metal' in the least. I don't like Avital, but it's meaning is precious. How about Aviva?I noticed that you mentioned two names with dew in the meaning... How about Talila which means 'sun dew'?

Aviva is nice, I hadn't thought about it and Talila is interesting and could grow on me (yes, I like the dew meanings!). I also wanted to ask whether these names would look a bit odd on someone without a Jewish background.

I think they would be fine on someone without a Jewish background. I know lots of little Sarahs, Rebeccas, Rachels and Leahs who aren't Jewish and even though Aviva and Talila look more Hebrew than the aforementioned names, I think they would work fine.
