Katrina (+ more)
I posted a while ago that my boyfriend thought of Katrina as a name for a daughter. I didn't hate it at first, so I thought I'd keep it in mind. I've been thinking about it a lot lately, and I really love it. This is weird, because I don't like a lot of girl names, and even more weird that (if he was serious), we agree on a girls name. So, what do you think of the name? (I'd like to use Katrina Clare, Clare because I like it, and its after my grandfather whose mn is Clarence. No, I will not use Claire instead).
Also, Craig mentioned using the name Kenneth, a name I liked and thought he crossed off the list. Turns out its an uncles name that passed away, and he thought it would be nice to use. Any ideas for a combo?
Also, I thought of Miles Gene, but not sure how it flows (thought of Miles Eugene, but I hate balanced names - both having the same number of syllables). I am still looking for a great Miles combo since Craig will not budge on that being his first son's name.

Katrina is my best friend's name, so I think of it with her characteristics - strong, opinionated, but really caring and emotional at times, too. It's a pretty name, IMO. :D I think Katrina Clare is very pretty - I like the overall sound of it, but the K- C- beginnings bother me a bit. Maybe you could have 2 MNs, so it would be Katrina _______ Clare? For some reason, the name Schuyler is in my head, and Katrina Schuyler Clare sounds pretty cute.
Kenneth is NMS, but I wouldn't mind seeing it as a MN. WDYTO Andrew Kenneth, Ethan Kenneth (I like the "th" sound in each name), Jeffrey Kenneth, and Steven Kenneth? For it as a FN, I like Kenneth George, Kenneth Henry, Kenneth Charles, and Kenneth Greer.
I think Miles is a nice name, as as a bonus, it sounds great in a sibset w/ Kenneth and Katrina. WDYTO Miles William, Miles Wyatt, Miles Oliver, Miles Jamison, Miles Andrew, and Miles Robert?
Hope this helps!

Hey there!
Personally, I like the sound of Katrina however as the sister of a Hurricaine Katrina survivor, I would suggest that it might hit a sensitive spot for some people still. And not necessarily just in the Gulf Coast, my sister has relocated to Michigan and is still trying to rebuild her life.
I don't think this is a reason not to use a name that you love, I'm just putting that out there, that you might get some negative responses from some people who were affected by the tragedy.

Love Katrina Clare. I think it's quite pretty and the Clare spelling looks so much better here. Kenneth is ok, but nms. Miles Eugene is terribly handsome and flows much better, imo, than Miles Gene. Also, the way I say it, Miles comes very close to being one syllable, like the first pronounciation listed by BtN. More MIELZ than MY-ulz?
A few suggestions, though they may not be at all your style:
Kenneth Quinn
Kenneth Mark
Kenneth Nathaniel
Kenneth Christopher [could honor you :)]
Kenneth Timothy
Kenneth Malachi
Kenneth Phineas
Kenneth Cade
Kenneth Paul
Kenneth Cameron
Kenneth Graham
Kenneth James
Kenneth Joel
Kenneth Jude
Kenneth Samuel (though the way I pronounce it, it's almost two syllables)
Miles Nathaniel
Miles Christopher
Miles Seth

I don't usually care for Christopher, but I do like the flow in Kenneth Christopher. I also love Kenneth James and Kenneth Joel.
I think you're right about MIELZ for a pn of Miles. I also like Miles Christopher, Miles Andrew, and changing one a little, I like Miles Nathan

Katrina Clare is very nice, and while Katrina's not my favourite form of Katharine, it's perfectly good. I've known some very nice Katrinas in my time.
Miles Gene works, though its flow is a bit eh. But since Eugene has significance, IIRC, flow is secondary. Miles and Gene are both excellent names, after all.

"If I recall correctly," as listed in the Abbreviations Guide in the FAQ.
And Miles and Gene don't sound bad together. Perhaps they're not the Perfect Combo, but they work.

ETA: Turns out it's not in the Abbreviations Guide. Huh.
ETAx2: Turns out I skipped it.
