Imogene
I used to extremely dislike this name but it has begun to grow on me. WDYT? Is it dated, or would it age well? Is it better as a first or middle name?

Sorry I dont like it. I think it will age well and I would use it as a middle name.

Ditto. It's an ok name, but it does not appeal to me at all.

I don't like this name. It would age well, but it's still horrible. Don't use this as a first or middle name.

I MUCH prefer Imogen, as Imogene 1) ends in the masculine -gene and 2) sounds like Emma Jean, and there are quite enough Emmas in the world already. IMHO. I only know one person with this name and it's a little girl named after her great-grandmother, and it is pronounced (by the family) EYE-muh-jeen. She goes by Jean and Jeanie, as her great-grandmother went by Jean all the time (that spelling).

I love Imogen but that extra 'E' on the end doesn't endear me to the name and neither doesn't the pronunciation 'emma-jean'.I think of Imogen(e) as one of those retro-chic names that I hope parents start using. Yes, it's old, but certainly usable. That said, I do think that it will age well.It could work as either a first or middle name.
