Ivan and Claudia
Those are the names of my future kids as things stand.
L. and I had a decent conversation about names, it was quite good fun. We were working on the criteria that the name has to work in both English speaking and Portuguese speaking countries.
Names L. suggested:
Anna- I rejected this for being too like my name Hannah.
William- I dislike all the nns and find this rather bland.
Augustus- I kind of like it, but it seems a little bit stately.
Names I suggested:
Alice- L. wasn't keen on using this as a fn, but it is in the running as a mn.
Adelaide- L. thought this was strange
Alcyone- L. doesn't like the "English" pronounciation.
Henry- L. thought it was too old and he doesn't like Harry.
Sebastian- L. says the Portuguese form Sebastiao is low class.
Barnaby- As above.
Theodore- Rejected because Teodoro is the name of his mother's poodle.
Hugo- Rejected because it is too similar to the name of our friend's son.
L. said he wanted a mythology name or an ancient Roman name, but I think they might be a bit hard to pull off. We might keep them as mns. I'm pretty happy with Ivan and Claudia, Ivan is the name of my great grandfather and Claudia honours L.'s late father Claudio. I should probably add that I pronounce them IE-van and CLAW-dee-a and L. pronounces them EE-vahn and CLOW-dyah
This are a few combos I've knocked together, let me know what you think:
Ivan Octavius
Ivan Odysseus
Ivan Aurelius- L. suggested Aurelius as a fn and I thought it was too much, but I rather like it as a mn.
Ivan Augustus
Ivan Callistus
Ivan Marcellus
Ivan Septimus
Ivan Leonardo
Claudia Nephele
Claudia Pomona
Claudia Alice- I know the As clash, but I really want to name after my sister.
Claudia Ginevra
Claudia Delphine/ Delphina
Claudia Penelope

Ivan and Claudia sound very natural together. I can really see them already as siblings. :-)
Your lists of mns for Ivan and Claudia are so good I can't pick one out above the others. If forced, then Ivan Septimus and Claudia Alice would be it. You can't go wrong with any of them, though.
You two are just the sort of name nerds I like to see reproducing. :-D

Love!
Wonderful names, all pronunciations! Ivan Augustus is one of my combos I think. I think Ivan Augustus, Ivan Aurelius, Ivan Marcellus, and Ivan Octavius are my favorite of your combos. From Claudia, I like Claudia Ginevra and Claudia Penelope. Claudia Alice is fine though. I agree that Augustus is staley for a first name, but it adds such an emperor-esque quality to anything as a middle name. Anyway, all of your combos are nice and I don't think there's any possible way you can go wrong :)
