I really don't like this name. I don't mind the sound, but... I've recently came aware of a fictonal character with this name and she was awful!

I had a moment in time when I was young and named a doll of mine Calandra Gretchen but that was a very brief moment in time. Gretchen reminds me of the word stretching plus every Gretchen I come in contact with seems snobby.

I hate it, sorry. Just hate the sound of it.

It sounds like someone vomiting. I've never liked it. It doesn't help that the only two Gretchens I've ever known were an old lady and an obese girl my age.

I'd probably like it on someone else.. it just sounds too harsh to me.

It's fine for someone else's child, but it's not one I'd choose.

I've always liked it.

I don't think its horrible, and since Gretchen Wilson (country singer), I do have an odd liking to this name. However, there is something about it that I really don't like, I just don't know what it is.
