Elijah
What do you think of Elijah? As I've mentioned before, my hubby and I had pretty much decided to name our first son Elliot Merrick. Elliot is my husband's first name. He doesn't want a "junior", but we both just really like the name Elliot. Then once he really started thinking about it, my husband decided that he doesn't want two Elliots in the house and that he'd rather give our son a different name. So now we're thinking of Elijah, which is what Elliot is derived from. Is it too trendy? Too biblical? Does it sound okay with mn Merrick? Thanks for your help!

I'd rather see Eli or Elias, but Elijah isn't bad at all. And it's a way to honor dad without giving him the same name or making him a junior. :)

I love Elijah, dislike Merrick. But the combo flows fine.

I love Elijah! I don't think it's trendy. Eli is a bit trendy but I don't think Elijah is.Elijah Merrick is great, even though I hate Merrick.

Love it! Great combo too. Fits just right. ;)

I love Elijah (although I am biased, as it is my nephews name). I also do not find it to be trendy or popular, even being in a christian community (where you tend to find more biblically based names). Of course, it could depend on where you live too.

I don't like the name Elijah.

I really like Elijah. It is getting trendier, but at the same token, it's sort of lost its Biblical feeling.

I like the name Elijah but I don't think Elijah Merrick flows that well together. I like Merrick Elijah or Eli Merrick better.

I like Elijah, it's a really nice, strong, masculine name. I think it sounds fine with Merrick as the mn. I don't find it "too biblical", but that doesn't bother me anyway. A lot of people use Biblical names.

Eliajh is fabulous! My only concern would be that it's become one of the new trendy names for parents to give their kids. Maybe you could get around this by naming him Elias. Both Elijah Merrick and Elias Merrick sound fine.

Elijah is lovely, it is getting a bit popular but it's so cute! I really like Elliot better and think that it goes better with Merrick but if you don't want two Elliots how about calling your son Eli, or what about using something like Elias, Ellis, Ellison or Elisha? Elias Merrick or Ellis Merrick would be so cute! Elijah Merrick sounds great too! :)

I adore Elijah, and Elliott (this way). 1. No it's not trendy
2. There is no such thing as too biblical, all biblical names would be too biblical then IMO
3. Yes it sounds nice with Merrick

I actually think Elijah sounds better with Merrick than Elliot does. Despite its recent rise in popularity, it is still very usable.

Elijah is really nice. I love it. Elijah Merrick sounds okay, a little nicer than Elliot Merrick in my opinion.

That's in my top three.I adore this name. :D What more can I say? I hate it when "my" names get popular, and though Elijah is rising, I probably would still use it. It's perfect.Elijah Merrick? It's good, I like it. Although Elijah has a softer feel, and Merrick has such a quick sound to it... Do I make sense? I often don't. Anyway the different sounds seem to contradict each other a bit. But it's still good. You're welcome! :)
