Don't know if you've ever read The Icarus Girl by Helen Oyeyemi, but even if you haven't what do you think of the main characters name? Jessamy, nickname Jess.
I've not read that book, but I've heard the name a few times (once on a British game show, IIRC - lol). I've heard it prn. JESS-ah-mee, which is sweet. I really dislike Jessica and Jessie but I love Jessamine and Jessamy. But I'd prefer Jessa as a nn over Jess or Jessie.
I like the name a lot, but then again I'm crazy about Jess names. I also love Jesse, Jessamine, and Jessup. I think Jessamy works well for a boy, too. Better perhaps.
