Eleanor
I can't get Eleanor out of my head. I was helping a friend come up with character names yesterday and suggested Eleanor, and she ended up using it. I'm so mad now that I didn't think of it for myself. =PAs for nicknames... I used to love Ellie, but with the insane rising popularity of Ell- names, I'm not so sure anymore. Lenore is also an option, but I think of it as a seperate name in itself. How about Nell? Could that work, or would Nelly (which I dislike) be inevitable? Nella, maybe? Also, a kind of related question, wdyt of Hannelore? Nell could also be a nickname option for it... yesss. :DCombo suggestions for Eleanor are also very welcome, using names from my list or some of your own. Thanks in advance. :)

I love Eleanor (Eleanora is another gorgeous possiblity)! Nell could definitely work and I don't think it would get turned into Nellie too often. Nora, Lea, and maybe Enna are other possiblities. You could also use Elena or Eleni (EH-leh-nee) as nicknames.I really dislike Hannelore, sorry. Nell is a cute nickname, though.Eleanor Alexandra
Eleanor Amelia
Eleanor Aviva

I think Eleanor is a lovely name. I much prefer the Nell nn to Ellie for the popularity reason. I could never use it, though, because Eleanor is firmly associated with elbe's little Elanor/Nor for me, now. :) Lenore is pretty and very Edgar Allan Poe-y. (Oh, literature pun time -- It's not Poe-y; it's Poe-etic! Ah, I crack myself up! :P) Anyway, I like Lenore as well, and I like Leonora, too. I don't think a Nell would inevitably become a Nelly, either. And I agree with the eww to Nelly. I don't like Hannalore, sorry. It sounds like someone is going to tell a story, the lore of a person named Hanna, if you follow.Eleanor goes will pretty much everything --
Eleanor Clare
Eleanor Lucinda
Eleanor Claudia
Eleanor Olivia
Eleanor Scarlett
Eleanor Susannah
Eleanor Delphina
Eleanor Antonia
Eleanor Josephine
Eleanor Marguerite+ Cute profile pic! :)

My personal favorite nickname for it is Nora, but Nell is very sweet also. Ella used to be my favorite nickname but I agree with you that all of those El- names are to popular now. My combos:

Eleanor is one of my top five girls names. Love it! It's so classy and beautiful. I could go on and on about it, and have before, but I'll just leave it at that. Nell is just darling. It's so nostalgic and sweet sounding. I also like Ellie, Ella, and Nora, but you could also use (some are a bit of a stretch?) Elle, Norie, Lee, and Lea.
I'm loving Hannelore, it's so pretty. I really like xPrincess27x's recent suggestion of Hannelore Jane.
A few of my fave Eleanor combos using names from your list (I haven't settled on my own perfect one yet) are:
