Dina/Dinah
What do you think of this name? Which spelling and which pronunciation do you prefer (DIE-na or DEE-na)?
Thanks!

Dina = DEE-nah and I've never cared for it. Brings to mind Dino from the Flintstones, which may be why it brings to mind an "airheaded" kind of person. :b
Dinah = DYE-nah. Love this. The only drawback is that (at least in the U.S.) she'd constantly get sung to her "someone's in the kitchen with Dinah...". lol

Dina is ick, and Dinah rhymes with China and its all I can think of when I say Dinah out loud.
I too like Dinah better; it does have a refreshing old-timey feel to it. She may be teased though..."Dinah won't you blow?" from the song. But I think most names have SOME sort of tease factor to them and this one is by far very minute.
LOVE Dinah prn. DIE-nah. I think it's the snazziest thing ever.
The other spelling and prn really don't appeal to me.

I know a few Dee-nahs. Most are in the ex-pat Middle-East community, though one is just standard -issue Canadian.
Also knew girls names Dee-Dee.Short, I suppose, for Darlene?Don't care for it much.

The Dede ("dee-dee") I knew was short for Deirdre ("DEER-dra").
I find this name to be very beautiful. I prefer the Dinah spelling.
