I actually think Esmond looks and sounds kinda col, but I worry that Esmond would spend his whole life correcting people who call him Desmond.

I think of Desmond and Edmond, but it's not bad. But I also think of Osmond, as in Donny & Marie. :-/

I don't think it looks trendy... I really like it, actually! Great meaning and sound.

I think that Esmond / Esmund is lovely! I found it in the database recently and have been thinking about it a lot lately.

Desmond is already a favorite of mine, and Edmund is great. Personally I see Esmond as a completely seperate name despite it's similarity to the other two, and I don't see it as trendy at all.

I think people would just think that you had spelled Desmond or Edmond wrong... it looks kind of trendy.

I think it's very handsome and old-fashioned.
I did think it was derived from Desmond, though.

To me, it just sounds like a surname-name. I kind of like the sound of it, also. I favor Edward, though. I don't think I am into male names with a ZZ sound in them.

I like the meaning too but I first thought it was created (Desmond without D). I like Esmond much better than Desmond but I think people will think it's a "trendy name derived from Desmond."
