I also have a sister named Laura. I don't know where you live, but it was overused in the eighties here, much more so than Lauren. I think people are giving it a rest now. I think I'd quite like it if it weren't for the popularity in my age group (early 20s), there were five girls in my class of 25 named Laura at school.
