Cheyenne?
What do you think of it?

I've been thinking about this name a lot lately myself. There's something about it that I really like. I'm into American Indian culture and stuff, so that's what draws me to the name.
I think that it is kind of like naming your child German or Chinese.

Don't like it at all.
I like it for a boy
I really like the name Cheyenne and I don't think it would be offensive to Native Americans at all. If anything, I think it would be a compliment
It's one of those "cowboy wannabe" names that are so trendy right now: Canyon, Stetson, Dakota, Montana. I don't like any of that genre asa rule, but Cheyenne is one of the least annoying ones. It has a pretty enough sound, and I've heard the city of Cheyenne is a nice place. As long as you spell it right (no Shyanne, Cheyanne or Shaeanne, please) I don't really have a problem with it.
The neighbors down the road from us have a big dog named Cheyenne. She's very nice and well-behaved.
As for genders, it's definitely a female name to me. The Anne sound just makes it totally unusable on a boy.

I think it's rather offensive as a name. You can see my long thoughts on the subject here: http://www.behindthename.com/bb/arcview.php?id=778629&board=baby
Array (doesn't want to start up that argument again, but does find Cheyenne-Dakota-Cherokee-etc in bad taste)

I totally agree.
My thoughts exactly.
I agree - offensive
It's an ok name, but I wouldn't use it, just like I'd never use Dakota.
