Eloise- I love Eloise! It would be a very cute option that would easily shorten to Elle to appease your husband. Eloise Alexandra sounds much better than Elle Alexandra.
Elena- I just don't like this name and as it ends in the a sound it will blend into Alexanrda, which may sound like Elaine Alexandra.
Eleanor- Yes, it does sound like an old lady. But that is kind of the appeal for me. I like it. And once you hear it on a little girl, it will start to sound like a cute, baby girl name. And a name that she easily be able to use throughout her entire lifetime. (Can you tell it is my favourite of the list?)
Elle- I agree this is too short for a given name. But it is an awfully cute nn.
Elizabeth would be a good choice to allow for many nn choices. Or Elise, Ellen, Hellen, Belle, Anabel, Adelle, Hazel, Gisel, Mabel.
