Ida
Ida. I can't get enough Ida lately. I think it's awesome, and I like the pronounciation EE-da even better. I know a lot of people think it's "old" and "ugly", but I really really like it. I think it's because I don't think old ugly woman when I hear it, I think Ida Lupino.
1. What is you're opinion of Ida?
2. What would you think of a little girl named Ida?
3. What are some good Ida combos?
4. Do you prefer the pro. IE-da or EE-da?
5. If it was pronounced EE-da, would that be to hard for some people to understand/cause problems?
6. If so, should I change it to Eda or Eida or something?
Muchos Gracias in advance.

1. What is you're opinion of Ida?
It's nice. I probably prefer Ada, but Ida is nice too
2. What would you think of a little girl named Ida?
I'd definitely admire that name. Very refreshing in a sea of Madisons and Kayleighs.
3. What are some good Ida combos?
Meh. I don't even do my own combos, sorry.
4. Do you prefer the pro. IE-da or EE-da?
Both are fine with me... I guess I prefer EE-da.
5. If it was pronounced EE-da, would that be to hard for some people to understand/cause problems?
No, I don't think it would be a big deal.
6. If so, should I change it to Eda or Eida or something?
No, those are even more confusing imo.

1. I like it okay. It feels sort of pedestrian to me, though.
2. Neat!
3. Ida Marie, Ida June
4. EYE-da
5. yes, she'd correct people a lot. Don't know that I'd call that a "problem" but it could be an annoyance
6. Eda, Yda both look like EE-da to me and still appear tidy and strong like Ida does. Eida looks like EYE-da or AY-da, so I wouldn't use that for EE-da.

1. I really like it too, short and sweet.
2. I think it would be really refreshing among the Ashleys, Madisons, etc. It's really cute.
3. I think old-fashioned, traditional names like Ida work best: Ida Louise; Ida Catherine; Ida Margot; Ida Marie; Ida Josephine
4. I-da as in the letter i
5. I think at first it'd be a little confusing but people would get used to it.
6. I think Eda might work better for the pronunciation, but I still prefer the Ida spelling.

Agreed on all counts! And thanks for all the lovely combos!
Ida Lillian was the name of my gm. Her mother was Ida Belle. I personally despise Ida but agree that the EE-da pronunciation is much nicer, however, my default pronunciation is like my gm's name, EYE-da. If you like Ida, spell it Ida. Dumbing down is never good, imo.
I think Ida could work for a little girl born these days. Why not?
EDA that my gm's sister was Ella May. I think the combos Ida Lillian and Ella May are very complementary.

1. What is you're opinion of Ida? -
Its not really my style as I tend to like longer names but it is a sweet name.
2. What would you think of a little girl named Ida?
I would find it a refreshing to see a child with this name, she would be right at home with the little girls I know called Eliza Milly Ruby Beatrice Matilda Maud and so on
3. What are some good Ida combos? Ida Beatrice, Ida Josephine, Ida Kathleen, Ida Lilian, Ida Naomi, Ida Rosamund, Ida Rosemary, Ida Vivianne, Ida Valerie
4. Do you prefer the pro. IE-da or EE-da?
IE-da
5. If it was pronounced EE-da, would that be to hard for some people to understand/cause problems?
For some it might be a problem but people soon learn once they are told
6. If so, should I change it to Eda or Eida or something?
Oh no you would lose the charm and the sweet simplicity of the name besides Eda looks like a mis spelling of Edda and I would pronounce it Ed-uh and Eida looks like a mis spelling of Aida,

I agree with everything you've said! And great combos!
hmmm... I never thought of pronouncing it EE-da before, I kind of like it like that. A little girl named that... would be cute. However, to clear up the mispronounciation thing I think it should be spelled Eida. Marie, Josephine, Lynn, Denise, Olivia, Diane, Lilly, Daphne, and Alexandra could make good middle names.
Ida is rather pretty, though not a personal fave. Sounds old, but not in a bad way.
I think Ida would be cute for a little girl, but would also mature well.
I've never heard it pron. EE-da, always EYE-da, but although either is fine, I think EE-da is prettier.
Doubt it would cause any pron. problems, you'd probably just have to correct people once. I don't know, maybe in other places EE-da is the common pron. And I'd say leave the sp. as is.
Really have no idea what kind of mn's you would like, but a few combos are:
Ida Caroline
Ida June
Ida Lorraine
Ida Evelyn
Ida Eleanor
Ida Clare
Ida Katherine
Ida Charlotte
Ida Helen
Ida Josephine
Ida Juliet
Ida Lavender
Ida Louise
Ida Miriam
Ida Victoria

It's really old-fashioned where I come from. It's pronounced EE-da here, and I prefer that otherwise it sounds like something short for Idaho. I wouldn't change the name if you want to pronounce it EE-da, just saying "it's pronounced EE-da", should be sufficient.

Hmm....interesting. Thanks!
I like the pronounciation EE-da better.
Yes, you should change the spelling if you want it pronounced that way by someone who is not a native Spanish speaker.
I can't say that I like it, but it's not horrible.
Eda - the problem with this spelling is that people will probably think it's Ed-a
Eada
Eeda
