Holden
Any thoughts on the name? I know it has a strong association with the character Holden Caulfield from the book The Catcher in the Rye but that doesn't bother me since it's one of my favorites. Do you have any mn suggestions for it? TIA!

I like it because of the JD Salinger association. Otherwise, it isnt really my style.

I like the name Holden. I like Holden James. I know James might seem to used as a mn but I think it really compliments the name Holden and has a nice flow to it.

My cousin Hadassah lives in Australia and she drives a Holden car. Everytime I hear the name I think of a car.

Cant stand itIts a car brand here in Australia and I much prefer Fords (the rival car) so to me I dislike it, plus I didnt like catcher in the rye.
Fords a nice name though :)

I'm a Holden fan, so would hate Ford. :P But I still wouldn't use Holden because of the association with the car brand. Plus I really only like it because of it's association with the car, otherwise the name sound and meaning just doesn't appeal to me. I wouldn't mind it on someone else's child though.

Exactly. Don't let him go to Australia - half the country would love him and half the country would hate him (except for those who really don't care - either way it just sounds too much like a car to me).

Yeah, we had a little boy when I worked in daycare named Holden and his parents were real Holden fans.
