MayBecause it's a good month :) Just starting to be summery.I like the name May, as a fn or mn.

I prefer it as a fn. Being a one-syllable name it's easy to stick it in the middle and be done with it, but Mae/May deserves a chance to shine as a fn.I slightly prefer Mae to May.

Yikes this is so hard for me because I LOVE the name May and both spellings. To me it makes a lovely first or middle name. The spelling , to me, depends on the name to go with it. I think May makes a better first name and Mae makes a good middle name.

I love Mae and May as a fn and mn. I like both spellings equally so I usually judge on how it looks with the mn when written

I love it as a mn and I'm becoming more and more interested in it as a fn. Mae is my fave spelling, it just looks nicer to me for some reason.

MaeI prefer Mae. It's a family name for me, the spelling is more attractive to me, and also less likely to be confused with the word or month. It's very cute as a first name : )

MayMae always looked 'hillbillyish' to me. May could be really pretty as a first name, if paired with the right middle name

I really don't like it. It's much better as a middle name.Mae looks trashy to me and May just reminds me of the word.

Middle name, and definately Mae.

Middle name, and definately May.

But then . . .. . . it looks like the beginning of a sentence. "Isidora may . . . "If the surname is also a noun or a verb, it really gets unfortunate. Ex: Isidora May Reed looks / sounds like "Isidora may read."

I'm not a fan of it as a first name, but it makes a pretty spunky middle name. I think I slightly prefer the Mae spelling, but it would be nice either way :-)

May has been my absolute favorite girl name for a long, long time. Spelled that way, but I'll accept Mae too. Love this name!

May for a first name, Mae for a middleI'd use Mae because it's a family name and after Mae West, but overall. I like it as I sated above.

I love Mae as a first name. I think it has a lot of spunk to it--retro and 1940s and goodness and stuff.May is fine, too, but it feels more sweetly old-fashioned than saucy throwback. I think of Louisa May Alcott. I tend to prefer Mae, and tonight is no exception. Array

Mae is very much growing on me. I don't think I'd use it, but I think it's adorable as a fn or mn. as you can tell, I prefer the Mae spelling. I think it looks prettier and differentiates it from the month of May. it's just more a name in my mind.Luxiana

I adore Mae as a fn. It's one of those names usually relegated to the mn position, like Marie or Lynn. I love seeing those used as fns.I prefer Mae, because "may" is a verb / auxiliary to me.
