What do you think of the name Lauren? Is it dated? Classic? Trendy?

I find it unbelievably boring, but I guess that's just due to its overuse in the 1990s.

It was trendy in the 90's. Now it's not so bad. I prefer Laura, Laurel, Laurentine and Laurentina, but I still like Lauren.

I think Lauren is a nice name but it needs to take a break - I mean I know a gajillion Laurens. I think it's definitely a classic, though, and very pretty. I'd just hold off on using it for a couple of years because it's popularity has made it sort of boring.

Lauren is nice enough. It's my niece's mn and yes, it seems dated to me. I've known a lot of Laurens.

Pretty and a sort-of classic, but yes, a bit dated. Very 1980s. I like Laurel much better. You hardly ever hear it, but it has a lot going for it, IMO.

Just a shade dated to me compared to Laura, but still rather classic. It's quite pretty, and I think I like it better than Laura, but I like Lorraine better than both.

Ugh I hate the name Lauren. It is used too much and just sounds so annoying to me!

I like it, especially paired with a more trendy or newer middle name...Lauren Brielle and Lauren Raine are both on my list. -amber

I agree, a semi classic. I think it's smart and feminine.

I love it, it's very pretty. I think it's semi-classic, meaning it's been around for a good while but isn't on the level with names like Sarah or Elizabeth or Mary, which I think of as almost "default names." Lauren is modern and popular, but it isn't trendy at all.

I don't like it - probably because my mother's name is Laura, and I hate it too. I'd consider it classic.
