Mae
Does anyone else like Mae as a first name? I don't care for it as a middle name, but I think it'd be adorable as a first. I don't like the spelling May, by the way.Mae Josephine
Mae Susannah (too hickish?)

Yes.. I love it as a first name... My grandmother is Mae Belle, so I guess that's why I'm so fond of it.

I think it's very sweet, and it would be very refreshing as a fn. I also slightly prefer the Mae spelling. On your list, I like Mae Josephine best but all are nice.

When Mae is a first name I prefer it spelled May, after the month.

I like it, but prefer it as a mn. I considered it for Caroline's mn.Mae is sweet, but for a bit more oomph, I like Maeve.

I like Mae too. I do like it as a mn aswell, but I agree that it makes a cute fn. I like Mae Josephine, that's quite pretty.

I like the name Mae, but only as a middle name. The only reason though is because it is my middle name, as well as my nieces my grandma's and so on, it's a tradition in our family to have the middle name Mae, my future daughter will probably also. It is refreshing to hear it as a first name too. I've only ever met one person with the middle name Mae, my brother's former girlfriend, and she was such a sweetheart that it puts a good image in my head!Auntie to: Robert, Brady, Juliana & Sophia.

It's sweetBut personally I would only use as a middle name. It's just so short. And I like Mae much more than May. Just like I like the spelling faery compared to fairy. It's funny because your name is Caroline and you like the name Mae and my little 6 year old cousin is named Caroline Mae. ^_^ Or as we usually call her Callie Mae or just Callie.---------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm the exact oppostie in that I really like the spelling May but don't like Mae.I think either way you spell it, it's great and refreshing as a first name. But I like it as a middle name too, as it's a family name.I like Mae Olivia the best.

Mae in its many spellings seems to have become the in name for middle names at the moment at least where I live, so it sounds fresh and rather sweet as a first name even if it is a bit on the short side for me ( I tend to like longer names)
Mae Virginia and Mae Josephine are lovely, Mae Susannah is pretty too but I like the others better
Mae Olivia is nice and I love Mae LouisaA childs smile is worth more to me than Gold

I love Mae, and I would have a hard time choosing between the three options because I love all three equally. Great selection!

Oh right :)Then I have to disagree with you, I always thought of Susanna as a very "posh" name!Maybe that's just an English thing?Alice

I adore Mae Louisa! That one's definitely my favorite. I really don't care for the name Olivia, and I think Louisa just sounds better with Mae.

I, too, don't like the spelling May, as that's a month it me, not a name. But, the spelling Mae is very sweet and simple, but I only like it as a middle name. I think it's harder to pair a middle name up to it, when it's used as a first name. From your middle name choices, I like Susannah and Virginia, and if I were to choose a combo, I'd choose Mae Virginia, but I don't think any of them flow.

I dislike Mae as first or middle name (it's horribly overused as the later imo), especially that spelling. It seems too short and a bit hick-ish too me. Out of your combos, I like Mae Josephine best. -Amy-

Yes. I love this as a fn, so sweet and simple. It's very nostalgic, and refreshing at the same time. I like Mae Josephine very much. Mae Virginia bring to mind "Virgin Mary," but maybe that's just me. Mae Susannah is OK.
