Pax for a boy
I was talking to a friend yesterday about the name Pax, and using it as a middle name. I thought Tabitha Pax would be cool, but he replied that Pax was male.
What do you guys think?

BtN says that it is feminine. I'm almost possitive that this is true. I think the name sounds nice and is unique (in a good way).
Seriously dislike it myself.
It's listed here as feminine, but I could definitely see it on either gender. However, I don't care for it, on either gender. :-/
Pax
I thought Pax meant Peace in Latin. As in Violata Pax "Wounded Peace". I dont like it at all for any name first or middle for boy or girl but whatever......your choice.

Yes, it is.
I have a feeling that many of your names I would also strongly dislike.

Angelina Jolie's new son might be named Pax
I read that Pax is what Angelina Jolie just named the little boy she adopted from Vietnam.

I prefer Pax to Tabitha. It's mostly girl to me because of the mythology behind it. I could see it on a boy, though, since it is kind of a "word name".
I do as well
However, things have changed and it looks like I'm back to knwon classics with an unusual streak.
It's too bad, though - everyname X picks as unusual is almost always growing in popularity.

I think of it as male, mostly as a nn for Paxton
And I do like it a lot, the meaning "peace" really appeals to me.
I don't know why it doesn't seem girly to me, but it doesn't. Maybe rhyming with Max and Jack?

Ditto
could be either, I think ,but I don't care for it in general, mostly due to sound.
I'd think Pax is a for a boy, it sounds too much like Lex and Max to be for a girl. I like it for a boy, not so much for a girl, but I wouldn't mind it as a girl's middle name. Tabitha Pax sounds cool, although I don't really care for Tabitha or Pax for a girl, so nice flow :P
I actually prefer it on a girl, for some reason...it just seems a bit (for want of a better word) weak on a boy (as in pale, as in doesn't strike me, not weak-unmasculine or any of that)
I do think though, that it is fair game for either sex and wouldn't object to it on either.

even though it's for a girl, i see it as unisex
Pax is actually a feminine Latin noun as well as a Roman goddess, so I think it works for a girl, though I personally prefer it and other -x (Max, Lennox, etc) names on boys.
I like Pax either way. I know Pax is a goddess, but it's also a Latin word, and, hey--Artemis has been used for boys. I think I slightly prefer it on a girl though. It has a very cool, strong feel about it for a woman. Tabitha Pax is fantastic.
