Eli or Elijah?
Since I'm slowly but surely trying to narrow down this name list, I realized that I really like both of these names. Question is, which one do you like better? Although this name doesn't have to fit Rio's perfectly, which do you think goes better with River?

Elijah. You can always call him Eli, and he can have the option of Elijah when he's older if he wants it.

EliI think it goes better with River because it sounds less biblical than Elijah. I don't like the sound of Elijah anyway. ;D

Elijah nn EliElijah nn Eli is perfect with River nn Rio. Plus I much prefer Eli as a nn, and, while I'm not fussed about sibsets being matchy, I do think Elijah sounds better with River than just Eli, but Eli and Rio are lovely together!I love Elijah, and I love your son's name. Congrats on the new little boy :)

EliElijah is both too religious and too trendy for my taste.

I like both, but I've grown a bit tired of Elijah, so Eli seems a bit "fresher" to me. But you could always use Elijah and call him Eli, so I think it could work either way. (I happen to prefer Elias to Elijah and Eli, but that wasn't your question. :b)

I think Elijah "goes" better with River. The thing about Elijah is that Eli can always be a nn...like, you can decide after he's born, whichever one fits him best.
