DittoI just watched the 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice last night. Mr. Darcy's little sister is named Georgiana, and that's how they pronounced it too.

jor-JAN-ah
I've known one, and that's how it was pronounced. For nicknames I like Georgie or Gigi (jee-jee). My name's Georgia and those are nicknames I've had, so of course I like them.

I'd say itjor-JAN-uh. Though part of me wants to pronounce it the other way to recognize the sound I'd expect out of that "i," I just like jor-JAN-uh a bit more. :-) I wouldn't balk if someone specified they'd like it said one way or the other in reference to their kid or themselves; I like both well enough, and neither comes close to putting me off or otherwise bothering me.I have a soft spot for Geordie as a nickname for any Georg- name, be it male or female. Aside from that I wouldn't go with a nickname for Georgiana.

jor-jee-ANNE-uhI prefer the nn Georgie. I love Gina for Georgina, but Gianna doesn't seem natural as a nickname, presumably because it's an unrelated first name in its own right.I love Georgiana anyway :-)

jor jee ah nahand it's beautiful and literary! I really can't stand jor jee ANN a. I know one little red head (she's about 4) with the name Georgiana and it's lovely.
My prefered nn would be Georgie or Gigi (said zhee-zhee, the french way)I know it's sounds a bit OTT but I have French blood so I sorta like it. Janna and Gianna would also be very cute

I pronounce it jor-jee-ANN-uh. I think the ANN as opposed to the AH sound makes the name sound more down-to-earth. jor-jee-AH-nuh sounds more like a fairy princess than an actual person. jor-JAN-uh is an appealing pronunciation. I've never heard it before.
As far as nn's go, I think I like Georgie and Gia.
