Evadne and Xanthe
Replies
I like Xanthe.
Don't really like Evadne because I think it looks awkward, and Lenore reminds me of washing powder!
On the other hand, I love Xanthe, (and Ianthe, Persephone and Daphne) and Xanthe Maris sounds very pretty. I'm not completely sure on Maris though, because I still have the urge to pronounce it like Marie. How about Xanthe Helen? Or is that a bit OTT on the Greek references?
Other suggestions:
Xanthe Jessamine
Xanthe Lilian
Xanthe Melisande
Xanthe Rosalind
This is hard! I think I'm going to give up now and just try and convince myself that Maris has an s on the end :p It really is very pretty when I say it right.
How are you pronouncing Xanthe by the way? I assumed ZAN-thee.

I've never heard of voiced consonants before, thanks for introducing me to them! I love learning things like this :)
Xanthe always reminds me of xantham, as in xantham gum. I don't mind it but I can't get away from thinking it sounds like a food additive. Evadne is alright; not my thing, but I can't find much to complain about anyway. :-) I like the middle names. I prefer Eleanor, as Lenore and Lenora sometimes jokingly strike me as Le Nore and Le Nora, but it's still quite pretty. Maris I like considerably more, being into Mary-related names in general.
