okay so I've recently begun to LOVE the name Jamison, Jamesyn Jamasin(almost any spelling) for a girl with the nn Jamie
So, here come the questions :)a) what do you think of it for a girl?
b) what spelling would look best?
c) what middle names would go well with it (having a problem with this)Thanks :)

I dislike this immensely especially the "-son" ending. This name is very masculine and should be used accordingly.

Agree - why not Jamesine/Jamesina or Jamie?

As a general point, digressing with your example--I'd have to say that I find Jamison to be a more appealing alternative for a girl than Jamesine or Jamesina because to me they're both just incredibly ugly. I usually like female names that are male names feminized with an -ine ending, but not at all with those. I know there's a lot of debate on the board about the -son ending and if it's only appropriate for one sex, but given how popular and largely accepted -son names are for girls nowadays I'd much rather go with the name that was actually aesthetically pleasing rather than the one that I think sounds more like a playground taunt to an effeminate boy, which is just about how I'd describe Jamesina. Not to say there's anything wrong with your opinion or your suggestion, but that very well could be the "why not" behind Jamesine/Jamesina. It's like Madison and Maude; I don't care much for Madison, but I find Maude to be incurably ugly and would greatly prefer going for the -son name instead based on the aesthetic gap between them.

I'd have to say that I find Jamison to be a more appealing alternative for a girl than Jamesine or Jamesina because to me they're both just incredibly ugly.I agree with this. People don't know hordes of men named Jamison, the way they would know lots of RL men named Brian or Thomas. And with Madison, Addison and Emerson all well established ... I think people would get used to Jamison. I don't like it, not one bit, but I think I hate Jamesina more.

I was just suggesting alternatives - I don't like them either, lol.

a) I don't like it for anyone, MUCH less a girl. It's all surname to me. Just Jamie would be a lot better.
b) JamisonIf you're going to use a very masculine-surnamey name for a girl, perhaps it would be best to pair it with a very feminine name.Jamison Elizabeth
Jamison Elise
Jamison Rose
Jamison Victoria
Jamison Mary
Jamison Eva
Jamison Therese / Theresa
Jamison Isabelle
Jamison Charlotte
Jamison Carol
Jamison Caroline
Jamison Lily
Jamison Vanessa
Jamison Veronica

Welp, Jaimson essentially means "son of James" so if you want your daughter to have a son meaning name...go for it. For me its a masculine name all the way and I would stick with plain ol Jamie for a girl.

a) I don't like it for either, but for a girl makes me want to react with profanity and hair pulling. For the bazillionth time, it has SON in it. Son, not daughter.b) Well, the literate one, I'd say. Not that I'd use it at all, again, but if I had to pick, Jamison. c)
Jamison Paul
Jamison Andrew
. . .
