Sorrel?
Sorrel. For a girl. It's one of my new favourites, and I was wondering what everyone thought/pictured.

Isn't it a fungus and/or mushroom? Kind of odd to me. I don't particularly care for the sound of it, either.

I don't care for it. I don't find it at all feminie or prety. Very unflattering sounding. Sorry.

Hiya,
A fellow Sorrel lover! LoL. I love the name Sorrel. The only thing I don't like is the first nn that springs
to mind is "Sore" which then grabs an image of a mangy dog :(. I always picture a tall, strong
young woman with light brown hair. I could see a girl named Sorrel being fun, patient, hard-working,
etc. Another "colour" name I like that isn't as obvious as Blue or Red is Brindle (I see it as a girls'
name), with the nn Brin (in case of anyone making incredible fun of her.)

All that is gold does not glitter, not all who wander are lost.

You could use Elle or Sorley for a nn....

I like it for a boy or girl! I wanted to name my daughter Harmony Sorrel for a while. I've found it works better for a middle name, but I love it anyway.
My current favourite Sorrel combo is Philippa Sorrel.
The meaning may be "sour", but it's also a reddish-broen colour often used to discribe horses(so it works well with my Philippa).

Yep, that's part of the reason why I like it. I'm a horse nut!
I used to be!..

It sounds like the Yiddish nn for Sarah. It's cute.
