Trip
I have a character nicknamed Trip. His name must be Trip. But, now I have to figure out what Trip is short for or what it stands for.
Any ideas?

Wow! Thank you so much. I can't believe I didn't think of that. It seems obvious.
maybe his parents went to Tripoli (not sure how that is spelt) on their honeymoon and named him after it....
I like Trip for a nn. It makes me smile for some odd reason because the name is not my style.
Maybe it could be...
Tristan
Teris
Torin
Toril
Turin
Taryn / Tarin
Truitt
Philip is coming to mind for some reason. Maybe because Trip rhymes with Flip.
You can get "rip" from these..why not "Trip"? hehe.
Ripley
Christopher (any form)
Crispin / Crispian
