Maybe teenagers were less sex-obsessed then?
Or the word "suck" did not have the same associations as now. I doubt that her parents would have named her that if they knew.I was thinking that the was perhaps too sweet, the "such" thing never entered my mind.

Not likely . . .A pre-occupation with sex has been the defining characteristic of adolescents (or at least, adolescent *males*, since women weren't supposed to have those feelings) for basically ever.
