I like Madeline pronounced with the LINE, but Madeleine pronounced with the LYN is not bad. Personally, I'd use the Madelaine or Madeleine spelling if you wanted that pronounciation & you didn't like the Madelyn spelling.

I agree...(m)I agree about the spelling. Since you don't like Madelyn, but want it pronounced mad-uh-lynn/lenn, I'd stay clear of the Madeline spelling, as it may commonly be mispronounced as mad-uh-line

Well... I wasn't really asking about the pronounciation part. Just telling you how we'd say it. I know 3 little Madeline's and all three of them say their name with the -lynn ending. So... around here it's not a problem. My mom was actually going to name my sister Victoria, Madeline for a while, said as Madelyn. Guess it all jsut depends on where you're at. Thanks for bringing it up though, it could be a problem somewhere else!And really, I like the mad-uh-line pro. so if they called her that, I'd just correct them. No big deal.
