It is very pretty. I see Hawaiian names being mentioned more & more often though, so they might be getting a bit trendy (not where I live, but in the States perhaps). I don't care for it. The spelling looks thrown together and messy, to me, and I find it awkward to say. The more I say it, the more I don't find it pretty.

I've never been a fan, but I'm not big on Hawaiian names in general for some reason (though I do kind of like Malia...). I can't help hearing the lei/lay in it, so it makes me think of a dog command: 'Lay, Lani!' :b

I think Leilani's great. There was a really nice girl (utterly blonde) named Leilani several grades ahead of me, and she's who I always picture. I really like the meaning of the name, and I like the sound a lot, too.I don't think I'd use it myself, though.Array
