I find it ugly. The "sea" part is weird, and "mus" isn't very pleasing either, I don't know why. I don't like the pron. (it has "shame" in it) either. Sorry.

I like it but spelled Shamus. It's ruined a bit by the "all-things-Irish" trend at the moment though.

Like it a lot! ;)
Nms..not sure why.
Hate it.
It reminds me of Seamus Heaney, a poet who seems to have written about a thousand poems about potatoes. And we had to study every single one!
Also, the name just isn't that strong to me. It's the "Shay" part.
"I'm a desperate man on the run. I can hardly lean out and go 'Ooh-ooh! Del!'"

It's OK, but it gives me the same feeling as Lucifer does. I like the name, but it gives me the chills. Anyone have the same feeling?
I don't have a problem pronuncing it, but I'm sure many people I know would. If it helps any, I live in the US.
EDIT: add pronounciation and again to add the EDIT!

I agree. You've shamed us again, Seamus.
I like it. It's probably not something I'd use personally but I do like it a lot. It's definitely one of the Irish names that absolutely screams "Ireland" to me. Not that that is a bad thing, just saying.
A few people may have trouble pronouncing it but it is being heard more often so I don't think I'd be so worried about that to not use it if I loved the name.
"LUPINWOLF: I KEEL YOU, SIRIUSDOG!
SIRIUSDOG: *whimpers*
LUPINWOLF: I KEEL YOU TOO, HARRY POTTER!
HARRY: AHHHH"
From m15m. A summary of a scene in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

I never used to like it, but it has grown on me lately. My only fear is that Americans wouldn't know how to pronounce it. (I don't know if you're American. This might not aply to you.)
I am American with Irish hertiage and I really like it.
