Bronwen or Bronwyn?
Replies
Brownwen. The "y" spelling, although correct as well, makes it seem uber trendy. Plus, I forgot where the name originates from, but I do remember that technically there the "Y" spelling is male. The female version is Bronwen. I know two Bronwe/yns. One is my age and she spells it with a "y" the other is 1 and has the "e" spelling.
Bronwen is a favorite of mine, too! Name meanings don't really mean much to me, unless they're something especially cool (such as Sophia's meaning, "wisdom). No kid is going to get teased about their name because of its meaning. Anyway, I think Bronwyn looks more trendy than Bronwen does, and I don't necessarily like trendy names.

Most definitely Bronwen, the traditional spelling. W-y-n suffixes signify a male name.
Ditto, except I don't really care for Bronwen.

I don't care for the name, as I don't find it feminine or pretty in the least. I do not let meanings bother me, as the average person won't know the meaning of the name, and it will not effect the child at all. Anyway, I prefer the spelling Bronwen.
