Very cute...I forget about this one but its really cute.
There's Lieselotte. I love the nickname form Lotty rather than Lotte :-)

Question for Ylva
Thanks. I couldn't remember exactly how to spell Liselotte. It's very pretty.
One question: Is Lotte pronounced "LOT-ee" or "LOT-eh/uh?" in Scandinavia/Germany?
I always thought it was an "-eh/uh" sound at the end. Maybe I'm wrong. I do like the "LOT-ee" pronunciation, but only as the English nn Lottie. Am I confused here? It wouldn't be the first time . . . .

Hiya,
My mother is full-blood German so I'm pretty used to different pronunciations. Ex. I see Daniela and
say dan-EE-la, not Danielle-ah. Whenever I see Lotte, I say lot-tee. However, not everyone, as you
said, is used to this, so if someone was using Lotte and wanted to make sure the "e" was pronounced,
they could write it Lottë.

I like Charlotte, and I only see Lotte as a nickname for it. I don't think the formal name decision should revolve around a nickname, as the nickname may not be used (I believe that nicknames should not be planned by the parents, but should be left up to the child).

Lotte is a German nn for Charlotte (shar-LOTT-eh). I like it as a nn, as in Lotte Lenya (sp?), the actress.
The only other name I can think of is a combination of Elisabeth / Liesl and Charlotte. I can't remember how to spell it, but it's something like Lieselotte (LEE-za-LOT-eh). Maybe others could help me out here.
