WDYTO Skylar?
Do you like Skylar? Is it a girl's name or a boy's name? Do you prefer Schuylar?

Hiya,
I love, LOVE the name Skyler (in this spelling ... It seems I have a thing against a's, ex. I don't like
Zachary but I love Zachery, etc) but I wouldn't use it on a girl. I've seen several girl Skylar/Skyler's
and it suits them, but I'm using Skyler on my son. So there! LoL ...
Schuylar ... I can't wrap the letters into my head. I actually had to copy and paste just the name, although
that could just be that I've just gotten up.

I prefer the original Dutch spelling of Schuyler, but I still don't like it as a fn for either sex.
Passing down family heritage by using a family surname is a beautiful tradition. However, the recent trend of using anyone else's surname has cheapened the practice. With so many examples of heritage theft now, the beauty is lost. I'd still use it if it is a family name for you, but in the mn position only.
Additionally, Skylar strikes me as Tyler warmed over. Tired.

I see Skylar as a truly unisex name. I prefer the spelling Schuylar, looks classier to me. I like the meaning, good for both sexes (scholar).
Boy name, but weird and trendy. Schuylar is less trendy, but still weird to me.

While I don't usually like last names for girls, I don't hate Sklar. Although I prefer the spelling Schuyler, like the last name.
I've seen it on both boys and girls. Skylar is boys Schuylar is more a girl's spelling. The actress Sissy Spacek (Carrie) has a daughter w/ that name and spelling

It's a unisex name. I like it about equally on both genders. It's a guilty pleasure of mine, so yes I like it, but wouldn't use it because it's too trendy and would date badly.
I think I prefer Skylar for a girl and Skyler for a boy :-)

Boys name and way too trendy. Prefer Skylar.
I don't care for the name in any spelling. It's terribly trendy and not a name to me, and it wouldn't age well (I cannot see an adult person named Skylar). It's not masculine or feminine. But, if I had to choose a spelling, I'd prefer Skylar for a girl and Skyler for a boy.

I love Schuylar for a girl, Skylar is a boys spelling to me, but i prefer the name for girls...if that made any sense at all
I don't like the name, in any spelling, for either sex. It doesn't sound very nice to me, and imo it causes much confusion with regards to spelling.
EDIT: I should add that I think Skylar / Schuyler sounds much more masculine than feminine to me. Therefore, if I were forced to use the name, I would do so only for a boy.
