Zhenya is a Russian nn for Yevgeni' (= Eugene) (yev-GHENN-ee). Zhenya is pronounced "ZHENN-ya." The first sound is like Dr. Zhivago.

I forgot to mention . . . . . . that I studied Russian in college and have met Zhenyas. I don't know how Westerners would pronounce it, but I do know how Russians would.

In Russian, "zh" is pronounced like the sound in French "j'adore" (thinking of Dr Zhivago). So I suppose just ZHEN-yuh?_____________________________________________________________________"Heaven's not a place that you go when you die, it's that moment in life when you actually feel alive."Elinor

I would say ZHEN-yah, just as it looks. The "zh" sound would be like a French J.Array
