I think twin names should be in the same naming style, so not, for example: Elizabeth and Hailey, but Elizabeth and Sophia or something. Alexandra and Elizabeth are good too. It doesn't really matter to me if twin names have the same meaning although I think it's cute, but only if it's not too obvious. I think Luna and Moon, for example is kinda cheesy. But Daphne and Laura or something is nice.

Susan & Sandi - my sis-in-laws
Michelle & Jennifer (age 2) - while not my favorite names, they go well together because while they are distinct names, they both had their heyday in the 60s-80s range.
Pam & Paula - girls I went to school with
Ann & Susan - they used to babysit me!
Josephine & Jenny - my great aunts. (Jenny may have been short for something Italian, I'm not sure).

If the names are too close (like Mary and Marie or Michael and Michelle) then I dislike that. If they're similar meanings but don't sound alike, then that's fine because chances are the only people who would notice same meanings are those of us who are obsessed with names :-)

I don't think it's good to give names that are too close (Antonia and Antoine), too themy (Rose and Violet) or too different (Gertrud and Madisin). Rhett & Scarlett or Juliet & Romeo are just creepy, and well known siblings or friends (like the two last in my list) are a bit problematic because I think it pre establishes the relationship between the kids.

I think twin names should have nothing to do with one another. No same first letter initial, same meaning, same theme, form of the same name, etc., and I think their middle names should have nothing to do with one another, too. It's too cutesy, childish, and immature (that whole nickname thing you've listed made me gag - sorry to be blunt, but that's the tip of immatureness, and I find it awful - again, sorry for being blunt). Naming twins is not a game, and they deserve to be individuals, and not plagued with a name that further mimics their sibling. They share so much already, and their name should not be an added identicalness.

I have (fraternal) twin cousins, they're named Michael and Joseph. Michael looks Irish, and Joseph looks Italian. I think it's best to give children names that suit them, whether or not it fits into a "theme."

Well... I've got mixed feelings. I think they are really cute, but I also think that it's not really fair. Identical twins will have enough issues with being confused, their names should be their own. If I ever had twins I'd use whatever names topped my list at the time, matching or not. Though... there are some "matching" names I think would be cute.

Emilia Josephine & Eloisa Genevieve "Emmie & Ellie" would be cute too. And different enough to use, but similar enough to be cute.

I would name twins like I would name siblings. I don't like the idea of changing my way of naming simply because there's two at once--it annoys me the way the words "tween" and "singleton" annoy me.

Twin girls would probably be Suzanne and Philomena for me. Twin boys would probably be Lyle and Terrence. A girl and a boy? Lyle and Philomena--which probably sound weird together.

Those are nice names you have chosen. I like Alexander and Gabriel for boys and Aurora and India for girls. I think twins should be named as single birth children are. Whatever you like is fine

Well of course I love my twin nieces names Juliana and Sophia. Stangely enough my sister was considering Eve and Zoe for them without even knowing the meanings! Well I don't really think of twin sets so i'll just list my top two favorite names, which I feel would sound good as twins.

I dislike themes in general. I feel like every child should have there own unique identity regardless of whether or not they are a twin. I would be more okay with names that have a similar meaning as opposed to names that start with the same letter (its so obviously themey). My favorite twin sets are currently: Micah and Asher, they are both Biblical but each has its own distinct sound. and Hazel and Felicity.
