Mabel
What do you think of the name Mabel for a girl? I heard this name recently, and I am starting to like it.

It's exotic.
It's cute, I like it. I think it would be a nice name on a child these days.
I wouldn't use Mabel, but I really like it. I think it's definitely ready for a comeback, having been unused for so long.

I like the name Mable because it not very popular, and it is aborable.
I think it's a fine name! I met twins named Ada and Mabel a few years ago. They'd probably be...around four or five now. They were absolutely adorable. Moreover, it hasn't been on the top thousand in decades--it's definitely a good choice.
Mabel Frances, Mabel Marguerite, or Mabel Irene would all be nice. (I'm trying to remember what sorts of names you like for girls--dated ones, right? And I think I remember you posting about Marguerite before, but I'm not positive on that, heh.)

To me, this is one of those names of yesteryear that should remain in yesteryear. I find nothing about it endearing, except maybe the vision of a sweet old grandma.
A few years ago the Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser characters on "Mad About You" named their TV daughter this, and I thought it was just awful. I feared this would propel the name to newfound popularity. So far it hasn't, but with names like Hazel being revived, you never know.

Cute, cute, cute! Love it.
I don't care for it. It is in the same class as Hazel to me: old-lady, homely, wallflower. I just can't understand why this would be revived but that is only my opinion. Think about if you yourself would like to be named Mabel. If the answer is yes, then it is worth considering as you must really like it. But if you can't picture yourself as Mabel, you should rethink it.
